College GameDay visits ... College Station?

I see there are no games matching Top 25 teams this weekend but ... really ... this is your "game of the week"? One of the reasons given was to show aTm's SEC debut. If you're looking for an intriguing SEC debut, how about heading to Columbia for Georgia/Mizzou. At least Georgia is in the Top 10.

Yeah but then they'd have to go to Missouri. Actually NU vs UCLA is a more important matchup long term since everybody knows the Aggies are not winning the SEC in ten years.

They might finish in a three way tie for their division and claim a conference title though!

Neither UCLA or Nebraska play in the SEC, therefore, they are exempt from College Gameday or even to be mentioned by ESPN. However, Mark May gets a $10,000 bonus each week he mentions picking Nebraska losing, so that's the exception to the rule.

Are you seriously complaining about a pregame show going to A&M? Some of you just love to complain about the dumbest things. And if you look at all the games this weekend then this game is just as important as any other game being played.

Maybe they're going to cover the new championships they've won. :dunno

I wasn't complaining so much as just saying I don't think that is the best game of the weekend. Especially when one reason given - as I stated earlier - was covering aTm's first SEC game when you could have gone to Missouri, covered a "first SEC game" and had at Top 10 team to go with it.

A&M makes sense. They're a pretty polarizing school with a large fan base and while UGA is ranked higher than UF the Gators have more recognition nationally.

Or perhaps ESPN knew to stay away from Georgia:

No. 7 Georgia will be without four defensive starters in Saturday's SEC opener at Missouri, including safety Bacarri Rambo and linebacker Alec Ogletree, sources confirmed to ESPN.com on Friday. The Bulldogs already were without suspended cornerback Sanders Commings and outside linebacker Chase Vasser, who are each serving two-game suspensions for offseason arrests. But UGA coach Mark Richt has been tight-lipped about the availability of Rambo and Ogletree for Saturday's road contest, the first SEC game for the Tigers.
