With the same players? Against the same teams with those same players? I think we've found today's meaningless statistic. As it stands, the current time period that it takes to truly evaluate a hire is 3 years. That's enough time to get your players in your system. If we still see these same problems in Year 3, then it'd be time to move on.

Here is another thing that pisses me off. Coaches like MR and his staff are digging they're own grave. Coaches at that level know offense, and it doesn't matter what offense they run, they should know it and it's concepts and should be able to apply ANY offense they want. Yet, they still, despite what the fans WANT, what a legend said they need, run something that makes us pass 30-40 times a game.

Oh lord, Mike Riley is absolutely NOT Brian Kelly. Kelly took over a dumpster fire that Weis left him. We will still see these problems in year 3 because Riley has been this way in all his years of coaching. Oregon St. fans warned us about his terrible clock management, his teams having penalty problems, and Bankers defense. Wouldn't you know they've followed him here at Nebraska and they'll still be there in 3 years. #runtheball

We could go back and forth about the whole...Florida was a talented team before Mac got their, they just had a pretty crappy coach. That's why it takes 3 years to truly evaluate a coach, until it's his talent that he's bringing in, this talent vs. coaching argument will continue to rear its ugly head. I'm not denying that the early going is less than average. I certainly expected a lot more than this and am incredibly worried going forward.

But I still don't think we have enough information to start calling for heads to roll. It's going to take patience.

Have you looked at Riley's commits and offers? It's a mid-30s class. He's not doing any better at recruiting than 7x9+ AKA 408.

Talent is a weak excuse from every aspect. Very similar talent won 9-10 games per year the last 7. Using the talent excuse is just another way of throwing current players under the bus. So it fits right into Riley's wheelhouse, I guess.
