Anyone have an update on Compton? Is he practicing yet? Really think he will be a big part of us stopping the run wen he gets bak for the rest of the season.

 
I was reading an interview with Bo and he was saying that Compton is progressing better than expected, but that's all I remember from it. I'll look for the link.

 
I saw him earlier today. He is in a walking boot now, (completely off crutches) he's still a few weeks or more out.

I joking told him Bo must've sent the whole team to 'boot' camp after the game on Saturday. He just shook his head.

The loss of Compton REALLY hurt, can't get back soon enough. He was supposed to be running our D. Plus I don't think the loss of Fisher would've hurt much if we had Compton in to help our wildcard David in acclimating himself and being in position.

 
David, has really stepped up as a first year player, but lets face it the lack of depth alone is cuasing problems. Let alone Compton's abilities. I heard a rumor from a buddy on the rivals board that he would be back by Texas(take that fwiw)

 
That sounds about right for a broken foot. Maybe a hair early, but if he's progressing well or ahead of schedule or whatever it was, I'd say that's right in line.

You never know though. You'd hate for them to rush him back like a certain QB and his ACL and have it end up ruining his season.

 
i dont know much about compton... though i remember everyone was kinda down on his play before he got hurt... but i've been very excited about LD.. the plays he creates and the pressure he brings.. and the events that transpire due to his actions against a defense have been awesome.......

 
I'm just glad we get him back at all. I expect jumps from David and Martin in prep for Kansas State where their services will most definitely be in use on about every down. The problem with hurting two LBs is what happens if one more gets banged up? It's bizarre how fast you can go from prince to pauper with depth in this sport.
