agreed, it almost sounds like the foot injury Burkhead had last year, but sure don't want to rush him back and have him turn out like Spano..Good to hear he's on the mend as scheduled, hopefully he heals completely before coming back.

Not that David isn't doing fine but if nothing else the depth Compton adds is huge, we only have 3 lbs covering 2 lb postions right now. We are missing Compton and our rush defense shows it.Blaze1up said:Looks to me David is doing just fine.

According to today's practice report, Compton is ahead of schedule and started doing "weight bearing" exercises last week.

That quote says a lot about what Compton means to the D.“I heard coach Ekeler yesterday tell him, ‘I hate you more and more every time I see you on the sideline,’” Pelini said.
LB Will Compton (foot) is ahead of schedule in his recovery process, according to Pelini. "We feel real good about where he's at"
David is the linebacker in the dime and nickel packages, in place of Fisher, whereas Compton would have been the other nickelbacker. If Compton comes back, he'll be in the game in place of Whaley or Martin.Lavonte David better not be seeing the bench at all this year, the guy has stepped up BIG time for us and to this point has been our best all around defensive player IMO.
