Psshaaaw. The Pac-10 only has three teams worth a crap—and of the three, I’d say Cal and Oregon are highly suspect. At the top end, it’s hard to say how LSU would match up against USC—I would give the nod to USC for obvious reasons. But the rest of the SEC far outstrips the rest of the Pac-10.

I AGREE FOR THE MOST PART. LSU AND FLORIDA ARE OBVIOUSLY THE STRONGET SEC TEAMS RIGHT NOW. IF YOU MATCH BOTH TEAMS UP WITH USC,CAL,AND OREGON I BELIEVE SEC TAKES THEM 5 GAMES TO 1 MAYBE ON A BAD DAY 4-2. NO WORSE. I REALLY LIKE THAT OREGON TEAM. THEIR QB LOOKS LIKE VINCE YOUNG'S TWIN. I THINK THEY HAVE A LEGITIMATE SHOT AT BEATING BOTH USC AND CAL.

I think LSU and USC are roughly equivalent

but i think Cal is better than Florida and I think Oregon is better than whichever team you want to put at 3rd in the SEC

among the top 3 teams, Pac-10 gets the nod, after the top 3, the SEC definitely has the Pac-10 beat...

no doubt in my mind that USC has a tougher schedule than LSU

But the fact that you're measuring two SEC teams against 3 Pac-10 teams indicates that the Pac-10 has more talent at the top than the SEC...a fairer comparison would weigh three SEC teams against USC, Cal, and Oregon, and I think whoever that third team is gets beat by each of those Pac-10 teams...I also think Florida loses at least two out of those three games...Florida hasn't proven anything to me yet, especially after this week against Ole Miss...

What about Bama and Georgia? Or the c$%ks? Even Tennessee ain’t bad (I’d like to see a Cal replay in Knoxville). Even Kentucky looks to be decent. THe SEC has 6 or 7 pretty fair teams. Pac-10 has three--maybe. The SEC is a LOT deeper than the Pac-10. jmho

I agree the SEC is much deeper. I just think if you strictly look at the top three teams from each conference, the Pac-10 has the edge...Tennessee and Georgia haven't really lived up to expectations and Auburn is a complete bust...Alabama, SC, and Kentucky are better than expected, but are still suspect...I just think after LSU and Florida, there's no one in the SEC that I would consider a top ten team, whereas I think USC, Cal, and Oregon all belong in the top ten...
