Congdon

Everyone is ranting about the playcalling at the end of the game and I think they deserve to but........

no one has addressed the fact that by going for it on 4th and 11, a vote of no confidence whatsoever just got sent Congdon's way.

I feel bad for Congdon even though he had a great punt. I think Congdon could have made that field goal if we didnt lose yards on third down. Congdon needs to increase his range in the off-season and he will be pretty good.

That is bad play calling, too. I feel bad for him, because I would say his chances of making it were at least as good as our chances of making it on 4th and 11. Though maybe in practice he has yet to ever make one over 45 yards, so I guess it's hard to know. I'll be interested to see what Callahan's answer to that is.

I think we were teetering on the edge of his range after the first down play. Then we ran 2 plays and went backwards. Obviously the coaches don't have confidence in his range.

What's unfortunate is he was supposed to have good range when he was recruited, if memory serves. I guess that didn't pan out, which I know happens. Sometimes the recruits you get just don't work out quite like you thought they would.

Edit - I should say he is solid for us under 40 yards, though. I do like Congdon, but we currently have nobody that can do much more than 40 plus a few, so it seems.
