CONGDON

I know I can safely say Congdon did an excellent job again today kicking. He made every extra point and his field goal. Bravo.

I watched Dyches during the second half warm-ups and he missed 5 straight. They were bad misses to. The walk-on kicker looked better during warm-ups. What does this matter? Not much but maybe just maybe Congdon is better during practice that's why he plays.

My point in rejuvenating this thread is not to put down the person who started it, but rahter to make a point. One, that kickers don't get noticed unless they do something wrong and two, this is a freshman that's doing a hell of a freakin job as a kicker right now.

NO DOUBT.

The kid made kicks tonight when we needed it. Came through like a champ. :horns2

i wonder if dyches was told to kick away from their return man? either way 2 kicks OB is enough for me, i don't need to see anymore of that this year! that sucks and you DON'T see that mistake on most good teams.......dyches to the bench

Our third kicker who usually has been doing kickoffs this year is not on the travel roster, and dyches has a stronger, though obviously less acurate, leg than Congdon. When we want touchbacks instead of coverage kicks, your going to see dyches in away games.

Upon watching Dyches warm up before and at halftime of the Baylor game It looks like there may be something wrong with him. He missed a couple of 40 yard kicks in a row. Not just pushing them to the side, these didn't make it go the cross bar. His third one just barely cleared it.

no wind at all. he just couldn't seem to get any power behind his kicks. I watched two fall short and one barely sneak over the crossbar. for all I know he was just messing around or not trying very hard or something of that nature, but it seemed like he was going 100%. I know he can kick the ball harder, we've all seen him do it, this is why I wonder if there's something wrong with him.

Maybe i'm just too used to the good ole days of when we sent out the kicking crew it was almost a definate 3. I don't know about this kid. He has missed three GIANT field goals in two games. What is the deal? Why don't we put Dyches in when Congdon is struggling? Does BC have something against this kid or what? Look at the numbers Dyches had a better freshman year even up to this point than Congdon is going to have...I don't know it's just frusterating not trusting a kicker to get it done. :steam :steam :steam
Sorry, me again:

Jordan Congdon has made six straight field goals, and now is 12 of 15 (80 percent) for his freshman season
