That's what I'm saying tough. Don't take the chance. Just push him out of bounds. Don't blast him, but in this game,if you didn't hear a whistle, you still play. That's how it used to be anyway. Trust me, this wouldn't be the first time I've seen Huskers standing around and quitting before the play was over. I guess I would need to know if he heard a whistle. Other than that he has no reason to be letting up on a play based off of what he "thinks" "might" have happened.

I think Cooper tried to give him a shove, but the PSU guy was pretty big, and Cooper hit him at the wrong moment, with his outside leg planted and the guy kind of stiff armed Coop away.

On another note --- how bout those Broncos?

Yep. He will be playing with a chip on his shoulder. Assante was always good for a penalty, but that dude flat out laid some wood. Receivers short armed when ever he was close. I miss that and O'Hanlon's open field tackling. I like the potential of Leroy and Coop back there next year.

I think both popular theories are wrong. I think what actually happened is, as Cooper was going to shove him out, the receiver wrapped his arm around Cooper's helmet and leveraged himself away from the sidelines, which ended in him actually pulling Cooper from the side to the back of him. By the time Cooper was able to execute the shove, he was more behind the receiver than to the side, and thus the push propelled him forward but not much towards the sideline.

That's fine if you believe he tried to shove him but just failed. The only reason I joined this discussion was stating my disapproval of a player quitting on a play because he thought he "might" get a penalty. That was the basis of which I even began to disagree. I too, found it hard to believe and thought it was a poor excuse. It really doesn't matter anymore. I hope he doesn't do it again,

How about those Broncos? Looking like legitimate Super Bowl contenders. Loving this great season. Kind of disappointed in how that game ended at New England, being on a strange special teams play. After fighting that long in that cold to have it end like that was disappointing for the team I'm sure. Still, with over half our secondary banged up or out completely, I expected New England to get some offense through the air. They eventually did and man oh man there is truly something to this Peyton struggling in cold weather thing. That worries me. New England is a tough environment to win in. With that lead, and Moreno getting 222 rushing yards, we still "should" have won. 9-2 though, I'll take it. Now on to Arrowhead to gain a larger lead on this Division.

Interesting interpretation. Now please take another look at the Zapruder film.

Did Coop think the PSU player went out of bounds and THEN he gave him the little shove, or did Coop think his little shove forced the PSU player out of bounds?

From what I remember watching, it looked like Coop thought his push had sent the player out of bounds, and if that's the case, don't count on the sideline to end a play for you. Go low and for the legs in that situation. He'll learn now.

Coopers "push" (or lack thereof) was before the personal foul flag on Burtch, if that's what you're getting at.

Cooper normally isn't to bad at stuffing the run, not sure what he was doing on this play, however he needs to lose 15 lbs for next year so he can run faster and cover better.

True. Not much different than taking the past interference penalty when they are being burned rather than let the player make the catch for a sure TD

Speaking of which, I think if the Penn State guy doesn't mug Enunwa on that throw out of the end zone, IQuincy catches that ball and leaves the defender flatfooted. I think that guy intentionally interfered, and I don't blame him.
