Cornerback Competition

Jackson has always been known to be a great athlete and a big hitter. From several reports in the spring, he spent a lot of time in the film room and playbook and was really getting a grasp on the defense. If he's also looking pretty good in coverage - watch out.

Not to read too much into things but when 247 was talking to Daniel Davie about practice, he listed himself, Jonathan Rose and Boaz Joseph as competing for reps at the CB spot opposite Mitchell. Cockrell was at Safety for the first practice but perhaps that is more than a one day deal.

This is probably the biggest question mark on defense. The only person we really know anything about is Mitchell, who has done some really good things at the position, and a lot of not so good things.

I'd be worried if we didn't always find a way to plug in an NFL calibre body there. This is the one group I'm not too worried about.

That are our safeties look pretty good, so we should have solid play behind the corners which always helps.

Would really suck for CJax if he's out much. Really seemed to be coming along well.
