Corriston to split time this fall
One of Nebraska's top hitters in Big 12 play last season, baseball player Craig Corriston plans to try his hand at punter this fall. Corriston won't officially join the football team until the first day of classes later this month, but he hopes to compete with returning starter Dan Titchener for the punting job this season.

"I was really just messing around during a walk-on tryout last fall and somebody saw me," Corriston said Tuesday. "I was in the weight room, and somebody said coach wanted to talk to me. I hadn't really been working at it much, but it's kind of like riding a bike, I guess."

A native of Paris, Texas, Corriston said the plan this fall is to split his allotted practice time between the football and baseball teams.

I wish him the best of luck. He is going to have his work cut out for him to try to beat out Titchener, but if he gets in just once or twice this year, it was probally well worth it. At least it would be for me.
