Cory Lidle Dead

NYY pitcher Cory Lidle died today when he flew his small plane into a apartment in NYC. Horrible event for a player that wanted to pitch in New York next season. 3 other people died in the crash.

 
Yah it's definately sad. I've been following it for the past few hours on CNN Breaking News here at work. Seeing another bldg in NYC on smoke was not a good sight. Initial thoughts were the usual terrosist attacks. As the story SLOWLY unfolded, it was a plane registered to Cory Lidle, a small aircraft, and he had his flying liscense less than a year. It was his plane that he purchased for $187K. Some of the witness said the plane looked like it was spiraling downward before it hit the 34th floor of a 50 story bldg. 2 fatalities confirmed. Just a sad, sad story.

 
CNN just showed a two minute video of Cory Lidle taking off and flying a plane back in April, along with his narration of his thoughts on flying, safety, and how he loves it. He looked comfortable flying. This is a sad tragedy. Like all, thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
