Cosgrove

I am sure that all of the coaches wanted to win, it just seems their schemes were not what it was going to take to win here. I am sure they will all land on their feet.

Good luck to them all.

I heard he was hired at some maximum security prison because he's excellent at making aggressive people more dosile.

Did anyone else hear that Coz tried to turn in a resignation but Callahan refused to accept it?

I do recall hearing something about that , I think it was before the Mizzou game..not sure of when it was though. Earlier in the season before Cally's chances of redeeming himeself really went south.
I heard the same thing, but after the KU game. Who knows what to believe? :dunno

It truly is a sad day when this happens. We are fans and will get over it. This is their lives, their families lives. Failure is never a good thing, and terrible when it is veiwed on a National level. I know he wanted to do the best job he could, I am sure he tried as did all the others. It is time to let the venom go. I have nothing but best wishes for all the past staff, just as I did when the prior one was let go. There is no doubt in my mind that this is much tougher on all of them than any of us. Let's try and show the Husker class we are known for and put our frustrations to bed.

I am sure he can be a good coach. It just didn't work out here...however, it didn't work out at Wisconsin as well. Maybe he would be better off just being a position coach instead of being in charge of the whole thing.

It is very sad what happened to him and his family as far as getting threats. It is just game and some people are little too crazy.

this is true, but the real injustice was committed by cally....he kept Coz, when he knew his coaching style was flawed...plain and simple, and it cost cally his job as well.

Excuse my short term memory, but that was the worst defensive display I have ever seen. From coaching down to players.

I'm not going to throw rocks. I do wish him better times ahead. He'll most likely resurface on another team down the road.

coudn't have agreed w/ you more...Coz's defensive philosophy have been a problem from day one and it shows

nothin' personal against Coz, but he's one of if not the worst DC we've ever had..the game had passed him by

from things ive read that stuff happens quite a bit, is it right NO. he should take that year off and study up on football and then maybe he will change his coaching style. as of right now he is way too stubborn to change his way. at least he showed he cared by showing some emotion in those last cple games, instead of having some arrogant smerk on his face.

According to some guy that had a conversation with Cos' uncle in an Urbandale, Iowa grocery store, Cosgrove has turned down offers to join the coaching staffs of:

Minnesota

Northwestern

Notre Dame

along with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Minnesota Vikings....

I can see him eventually heading back to the Big 10 from whence he came though....Northwestern or Minnesota might be good fits as they already suck and have nowhere else to go but up or sideways....

One thing is for sure. I wont miss seeing our defense looking lost and out of place 100% of the time.

Good luck to him. Just glad he is gone.
