Crouch gets cut

Eric Crouch is hoping his experience in NFL Europe still can pay off after the Kansas City Chiefs cut the 2001 Heisman Trophy winner. If no National Football League team picks him up off waivers by Monday, the former Nebraska quarterback becomes a free agent. He and his agent, Jim Steiner of St. Louis, then can talk with other teams.

I think if he is serious about playing football at safety, he shouldn't let this set him back. Someone else will give him a chance if he is dedicated.

If he's committed to doing it for himself, then good luck to him.

If he's doing it because he feels he let people down by quitting a couple of times, then he should move on with his life.

To be honest, I don't know how dedicated he is. Only he knows.

At least he's not Ricky Williams-ing his career, taking prolonged weed breaks, driving across the country, and then deciding he wants to return to the team he left twisting in the wind.

Crouch has class. His one weak moment though was his "going out clubbing" attire at the Heisman Trophy presentation last year.
