CWS

Was at the Blatt place yesterday, not really a sports inclined crowd, lots of wannabe rich d-bags hanging out on the roof. None of them were there for the CWS, just to be seen with their white hats and what not... Although the bar is pretty neat, and I found it funny that a hipster wannabe bar served coors light... I guess they were being ironic... To be fair it was kind of nice to get away from the non-stop baseball overload.

The set up at The Mat is huge. Go there if you want to talk smack with people that watch baseball. As usual I saw a lot of LSU fans who come just to come.

It's my first time back since they moved. I will miss the old RV areas, but overall I thin this is a massive step forward, oh and I really enjoyed the quick in and out, tons of parking (if your will to pay a little), and the fact I wasn't parking in some guys back yard

Later this week the hipsters will be a Slowdown. They have some really great local bands for free on Friday and Saturday nights.

I don't know about you but personally I don't want a baseball crowd there, I want hot girls there and I want to chill out with my friends!

This kind of sums it up. They served like 5 beers. Coors Light being the domestic of choice and that sh#t sucks, imo. The setup is very cool though.

Canttakeitnanymore, if you get the chance, can you post more about what you mean? I was down there, I thought it was fun, good looking girls, lots of booze flowing, lots of fun, what were you hoping it would be like?

It's just a bunch of douchey people that could careless about baseball, but want to be where everyone is at to try and act cool and wealthy. When I was there I think I saw maybe two shirts or hats related to baseball or a similar sport. If you are trying to lift a pinky while drinking a coors light, you know you're surrounded by winners.

Trying to line up tickets since I have never been to the CWS(first time in Omaha during it).

Probably going to tuesday or wednesdays game.

I need to stop posting when hung over, it sounds way more angry than I intended sorry about that....

Yeah the hot girl part of it was awesome, everywhere we went Saturday had hotties running around, and the Blatt had some of the best. What I am getting at this is not a place to go hang out if you care about the CWS or who is playing, the upstairs part had one TV, and, like others have said, no one cared, on top of that crappy beer, unless you went to the main bar and they had some OK micros. Being I am no longer 22, I dont enjoy standing around drinking beer, if I want to act like I'm at a kegger, I'll have one at the house, if I'm in for the long haul (like Saturday) I want to have the choice of sitting/standing, granted I'm getting old. If you are going to Omaha to enjoy the CWS scene, and care about the baseball being played, then just stop by.

I had a Stoney Brook hat on, and I think I was the only one with an actual sports related hat.

PS if you were there Sat afternoon, I was the huge guy with a blue polo shirt, and white (gag) Stony Brook hat, more than likely talking to a short blond girl......

I was not there Saturday. I thought it would have been cool if the Blatt Bar was a bit higher, you could kind of see into the stadium then and that would be very cool.

I know what you mean but its not like a Husker football game where you have 100,000 people down in lincoln and 75% of them are their for football and fun and 25% are their for fun.

At the CWS, since not to many people really follow college baseball, you are lucky if you get 25% of the people that are actually "into" the CWS and not just there to have fun.

Hey man I know who you are.... Next time I see you trying to make moves on my lady your getting a knuckle sammich... Your just lucky I was to busy double fisting Coors Lights, while holding my pinky in the air or I so would of destroyed you... After I took off my Hollister t-shirt...
