D Line Recruits

Reports are we had decided not to recruit any DTs for this class but may be doing some last-minute looking now that Collins and Valentine are gone.

You should never go a class w/o getting at least 1 DT. They are too damn important to skip.

Wow how did they not expect both of them to leave after this year?

I think that you look at the situation...

Collins: Probably a high draft pick

VV: Graduated...been hurt before a few times.

I think when you look at the facts you have to assume there is a good chance that both would leave but one for sure. I think if you lose one you need to bring one in. If you lose two you better bring two in.

I don't get this logic at all. Regardless if those 2 decided to leave or not, you recruit DT's for the future not for the next year. After this year there are only 4, would be awfully nice to have a RFr. Be ready to add depth in 2017 as the 5th DT.

I'm sure the staff sees a bigger depth issue then DT and might be happy to save a couple scholarships for the 17 cycle. Us fans don't see any upperclassmen with experience after this year - so we as fans seem concerned. The staff knows what they have in the young guys and it must be GOOD!!!

We have 22 seniors plus any other attrition.

There's no need to save any spots.

The concept of "saving spots" by leaving scholarships empty is not, nor has it ever been, even a concept college football staffs use. No coach is going to willingly mess with their roster distribution to "save spots" - doing it one year messes your roster up for the next four. No.
