Dan McCarney Out at Iowa State

Could Bo Pelini be the next Iowa State Head Coach???

Does he want back in the Big 12 or does he stay put at LSU for a few more years.

Thoughts!
pelini wants an HC job so bad he can taste it. it was that way when he was at nebraska and i don't think it's diminished on iota since he's taken on other jobs.

if they offer it to him, he will pounce on it like a lion on a slow and retarded gazelle.

So, who will be the Cyclones next coach? My sources tell me San Diego coach Jim Harbaugh is a hot name surrounding the job. The former NFL and Michigan quarterback has done a fine job coaching San Diego in recent years and looks poised to break through to a bigger gig. Sources also tell me ISU is looking at three other guys: Texas defensive coordinator Gene Chizik, UTEP coach Mike Price and LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini. Forget about Northern Iowa coach Mike Farley.

If Stanford dumps Walt Harris, sources say it's possible the Cardinal could court McCarney. The connection is Stanford A.D. Bob Bowlsby, who has a relationship with "Mac" and appreciates his skills.

As I reported earlier, sources told me McCarney could follow Barry Alvarez to Miami as defensive coordinator, if Alvarez gets the AD and/or head coaching job with the Hurricanes.

Update

A source just told me that a big-time candidate for the ISU job is Denver Broncos tight ends coach Tim Brewster. He has extensive college experience, including ultra-successful stints at North Carolina and Texas. Brewster was in the running for the job at Illinois, his alma mater, that went to Ron Zook. Also, Brewster would be a viable candidate for the Stanford job, if the school opts to dump Walt Harris.

Iowa State has got to put more money into their facilities to give coaches a shot and even recruiting anyone worth a damn IMO!!!!

That Sporting News guy had on there today that "Super" Bo doesn't want the job. He must believe he is above that program. <_<

ISU put up like $125 million for new facilites, and the horrible season is bad public relations with thta kind of investment. When you announce massive renovations that you still need to raise most of the money for, then tank the season, it tends to get the coach fired.

Yeah I think ISU is going to be adding on to their stadium this next year or so from what I've heard before the season began. The problem is they can't fill what they have now so how the hell do they expect to get any revenue from it????? :dunno

they were actually selling out early in the season. But they dont have fans that will show up durring this bada losing skid.

Yeah I guess that goes to show you how faithful we are and how lucky we are to have the types of fans that we do..............It also helps we haven't lost that much throughout our history......... :thumbs
