Hopefully Raiola. But also, I would think the running backs (if he's healthy Rahmir in particular) and probably Jacory Barney. Receivers of all different skill sets have been successful under Holgorsen, but the speedy guys (Tank Dell and Marquez Stevenson at Houston, Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin at WVU) are the most memorable. But he also turned Kevin White into the 4th overall pick, and Neyor has a similar (although not as good) skillset. He also force-fed David Sills 33 TD catches over 2 years, and I could see any of Neyor/Banks/Fidone/Nelson filling a red zone target role. 

So really I expect it to be the same guys, just hopefully getting them the ball more efficiently. But there's always a chance he likes the things he's seen from guys with smaller roles like Carter Nelson and Jaylen Lloyd and they become focal points.

I can See a big Game from Jacorey, throw in another smaller speedy guy in Lloyd.  

Nelson could get used a bit more, I don't see Fidone being a asset in the passing game. He just doesn't look that athletic getting open or even with the ball.

I think he will do a better job of identifying what is working and coaching the players to execute.

We have all the pieces to be marginal (our offense is terrible) pretty easily in my opinion.  The bar is pretty low and I think Holgy is going to show how bad the coaching has been.

I think Raiola needs someone to lead him and DH has been around a ton of high level QBs.

I think people's perception of Fidone would be a lot different if he were targeted on the routes he is wide open on.  I think him and Nelson could be the most immediate benefactors, of course including the QB delivering the ball.

Just one example, but yeah:

He's not very agile, but he's plenty fast for a TE.

I think this is a great observation.  If timing is right, the receiver has a chance to make a play.  When it’s late, they get blown up or have defenders already reacting before the ball gets there.

Right, but he can catch one of those arrow RPOs at the hash and be out of bounds before he can actually get turned up field. A little more agility would be nice.

When I look at it, we can say his knee injury could've slowed him down, but he ran a verified 4.63 coming out of HS which would've put him at the 6th fastest TE in the NFL combine for 2024. I think he is more of a north-south guy, but I also think running him on a screen pass shouldn't have been happening. Substitute him out and throw Nelson in.

It's been mind boggling how we've used the TE room this year. Nelson has 2 solid starts against UTEP & UNI and then MIA for the rest of the season, and we've burned his redshirt. Really not sure how many snaps he's even received this year, but I feel like I've barely seen him. 

Hopefully Holgorsen gets Coleman in if he's healthy, he can play the remainder of the year and still maintain the redshirt.

Jumping 10 points per game as an average is like, a monumental feat. That doesn't really just happen, IMO.

More in a response to "we don't need to put up 40-50 points to win games.  But looking at the games we lost by single scores again, 7-10 points gets us wins.  Hard to do yes, but if what Holgo does transfers to NU and defense continues, he averaged over 30 points per season and  over 40 in 5 of those.  We currently average 23 points across 9 games.  So with him, if chosen as OC, and he performs at NU as he has at every stop 10 points in not out of the realm of possibilities.  And our wins "should" improve correspondingly as well.  If D stays around where it has been.  Just looking at potential....

And Coleman can and will block.  Something sorely missing.  

Fidone has statistically improved, but has he really "improved".  Unsure why we don't use him more in the red zone.  6'6 255-260.  He is gigantic.  I don't mind the slant passes, but not the swing passes at or behind the line where he needs to turn upfield.  He's like a semi-tractor trying to turn around. Straight line good.  Rounding a a route to get up field, bad.  Also wish that he played more physical and would truck guys in the open field.  IMHO, we lack that physicality across the board from the skill positions.  Agree with Carter. If the shirt is burned, burn it all the way.  Might be a difference maker.  Possible, Dana has watched practice and observed guys who need to play now to get 6.  If I was a player, I'd burn my RS to go bowling.  Guys who can make a difference won't be here 4-5 years...
