Dana Holgorsen Hired as Offensive Coordinator

Dang, the offense looked pretty good again.  That was freaking cold a$$ weather.

There were many times guys were open as easy hot routes and DR just wouldn't go there.  Cannot have that mentality next year.  And DR holds the ball too long looking for a big play.  It keeps killing us.

If Dana comes back for another season, that would be awesome.  I like him.  Always have.  But I do think there could be doors open for him after this year as HC - Mississippi State for example.

Who knows.  In 2 years LSU and Auburn could be looking for new HC.

Those are the 2 things that I see: holds ball too long & misses open receivers.

Bingo.

Did Dylan play up to my expectations this year? Nope.  He did a lot of things that drove me crazy.

But he’s an 18 year old kid that was playing HS ball last year.  He was saddled with a loser OC for 90% of his time here.  He was doing this all in the Nebraska fishbowl and being anointed as “the savior”.

He made some great throws and he made some terrible throws (and we tend to remember the terrible ones more).  He played through injuries (ankle, back).  He started all 12 games for the first time since  god knows what year.

Im going to give him some grace and think that he will put in the work this offseason to improve.  If we see the same play out of him next year as this year, then yes, it’s time to entertain the thought of moving on from him.
While I agree with what you posted. You would think that a guy that has trained with pro QB coaches during the summers for 2 years. Wouldn't be throwing off their back foot and would know when to zip the ball in or put air under it. The mechanics should be automatic at this point but their not. Don't get me wrong he's very talented but I think he's buying into his own hype a little too strongly.

I have learned that Nebraska can come up with some very creative ways to lose a game.
Creative but predictable. We all knew it after the missed FG. And we’re pretty much assured after the 1st play of the 4th quarter

You get hit time & time again because your oline is poor.  Colorado defense was not ready for us.  Once we got to the big 10, they seen enough film & knew how to attack our slow moving oline.  Iowa was beating us with a 4 man front most of the day.

It’s not always the OL. I think I saw a stat that said most of time Dylan got QB hurry it was around 3.5 seconds. The OL job is to give him 2.5-3. So based off that the OL is doing their job. Yeah they get beat on blitzes for sure. But every OL does

Young QBs do stupid s#!t example 112,651:

Avery Johnson (playing in his 20th career game) just ran backwards 25 yards, threw a pass from his own end zone to nobody, and was called for intentional grounding that resulted in a safety.
There are some similarities to NU. We both have highly recruited QBs that perform inconsistently.

I watch KSU football because I have family that are die hards.  I think Johnson is a great runner and an average QB.  Last year a lot of the fanbase wanted Howard gone.  Howard played well, but Johnson was the highly ranked recruit.  Something new and shined.  I thought this was great because that’s who I wanted us to snag.

Johnson drives around in a purple corvette.  Man of the campus.  I don’t think he’s living up to the hype yet.  If I was Klieman I’d be making sure I’m reloading (which they do anyway).

From what I understand, Howard is gone because Avery said he would leave if not and they chose Avery.  Will may have left regardless, but Avery was gonna be the guy this year.

He hasn’t performed like they thought he would though

Dylan does hang the ball, but satt offensive routes were too long.  Yesterday, our tackles were getting beat on 50 to 60% on the pass plays. For behardt being a 5 yr Sr that's awful.  The left tackle, Gottula is a so., he will get better.
