Daniel in the Shotgun

I watched this, and i think he is very hard to contain while in the shotgun....its very unusual how mizzou does this....

5 WR's, Daniel is about 7 yards behind the LOS....when he receives it, he barely moves, just drops his right foot and throws..............with 5 wide, and little time to react, this is worriing me if our DB's can handle it when we aren't getting consistant sacks

Thoughts?

While I'm worried about the defensive backs, I'm even more worried about the linebackers, for two reasons:

1. I'm not sure they have the speed to get on the receivers that quickly.

2. It limits our ability to blitz.

exactly my thoughts, we dont have enough time to get to him when he releases within a second....

hopefully coz doesn't just blitz all day long without a care in the world

We have to control the passing game..........the DB's really need to dig deep and find that spark that they didn't think they had and make some plays!!!!

I think the tigers will get 250 to 275 yards in the air. But we will control the LOS and shut down their running game. They will score on us but unless they can run the ball on us they will not win.

i say when he lines up in the shotgun, NU puts Ola and Suh right on the center and smash him in the mouth 3 or 4 times in a row and then the center might get a little jumpy and then have some bad snaps, shich in turn will bring daniel back under center

Our DBs need to concentrate on wrapping up and tackling on the first try. They cannot miss tackles today or it could result in some big plays for Missou

Before today, I had never seen Missouri in a full game to see how their offene is set up. Have they had their offense set up like that all year? It looked to me like they had no more than 1 simple running play. Very strange.

Yeah, their run plays are all pretty much the same. They're designed usually to get out around the ends, though sometimes you'll see them cut it up the middle if a gap opens. Against a team that's good against the run, it's really just about keeping the defense honest and watching for the run so the passing game remains free. Missouri's real threat is the pass.
