This so called "cycle" of talent in football programs is strange, to be honest I thought Hawkins would build a giant in CU like he did at Boise. Too bad, with such a highly touted recruit does not pan out that hurts, I still have a hard time buying into the whole :star ratings, when you have no idea how things young athletes will adjust to college football and college life.Good and bad:
The good is that this should only help drive in nails on Talkin's coffin, the bad is that this kid never really got the chance to show what he could do and it is a shame for him. Sometimes things really have to hit rock bottom before they can be good again.
Your a good fan BB. You take the good and bad with an even keel.Good and bad:

The good thing is that the Broncos are 6-1 and our local high school team that I am heavily involved in is 8-2 and headed to the playoffs so I can point some very good aspects to my football season, so I cannot complain too much.
Hawkins would have worked out if he had brought Chris Peterson with him. I firmly believe Peterson is the reason Boise St was and is so successful right now.Always greener.....Hawkins should have worked out. He built Idaho St, on the outside the hire had all the makings to be positive.
Too bad that CU is not a vertical job from Georgia Tech if I could pick a realistic college coach I would go with Paul Johnson. My fantasy pick, sort of like thinking Scarlett Johansson would marry me, would be Mike Shanahan.Hawkins would have worked out if he had brought Chris Peterson with him. Maybe CU and Boise St can do a one-for-one swap at the end of the season.
