Twin Nebraska defensive tackles and discus throwers Khalil and Carlos Davis on Thursday were among 45 Husker track and field athletes to earn bids to the the NCAA West Regional.

Khalil Davis is seeded No. 24 in the West Region with a best throw this spring of 180 feet, 7 inches. Carlos Davis is seeded No. 36 in the region with a best throw of 177 feet, 1 inch. Nebraska's best discus thrower, Nick Percy, is seeded second in the region with a best throw of 206 feet, 5 inches. Percy is a contender for the national title.

For either Davis brother to make the national meet, they'll have to finish with one of the 12 best marks in the region. Based on qualifying figures, a throw around 190 feet would put them in the vicinity of the top 12.

The West Regional will be held May 25-27 at the University of Texas.
