Move the clocks ahead 30 minutes and leave it there forever. Split the difference between daylight saving time and daylight wasting time. 

Do it on FRIDAY instead of Saturday. 

Never change it again.

Your 30 minute idea was the first thing I thought of when I realized the time change was this weekend

 
I would have zero qualms with it getting dark at 7:30 during the summer.  I think I'd actually prefer it since it would mean early evening activities wouldn't be so dang hot!
That's why Arizona doesn't do daylight savings, but I don't think it's too hot elsewhere in early evenings.

I've watched my kids play baseball or swim at 6:00 in July, I strongly disagree.

And starting a campfire an hour earlier sounds like a lot of fun!
