DE Joe Mathis [Washington Commit]

starting to get a little excited about this kid......

Im pretty sure he is under 18

Thats what I thought to. Did he eliminate 2 teams or something? And when will he make his commitment?
i'm not sure if he eliminated any teams or not. if i were to guess he probably eliminated UCLA. As to when he will make his commitment, it could be tomorrow, or it could be at the Under Armour game.

hope i'm not giving away too much info lol

Bama and Florida are now shwoing alot of interest in Joe, the SEC schools do scare me a little.
I would just worry about Bama. I cant see how kids like Florida who was awful last year and should be even worse this year. Who cares if you play in the SEC if you only win 6 games.
By this logic, NU should just stop recruiting whatsoever. You do realize Florida has been a hell of a lot more relevent in football than NU recently right??? You also realize one of the best defensive minds in the game is their HC, right???

And I'd jump on your overs on the Florida projected record this fall.
Florida isnt great. The only reason they have been decent is because of Meyer and now are down to mediocre play at best. They will be even worse this year.
Yeah, they are just awful... they will be pathetic for years to come...

Or, maybe its because it was the first year of Muschamp's reign, they had injury issues, and installed new material? Highly doubt they get LESS than 7 wins this year.

i really have no indication of what this guy is thinking..... personally i think a lot of people having Michigan pulling ahead of just plain Nebraska losing out.... it is quite possible... but i have a hunch that if the staff can stay solid on him... continue with that connection and if all possible move in as his last visit i think we could have him..... he just seems really moved by the moment.. as any 17 year old is i guess...

Hope im wrong but I think that Nebraska is in for a rough year. We have to close the deal this yr with some super studs and fill up with elite talent like THIS kid Mathis. If this season goes south, many fans will whine and moan about pelini and hot seat etc. This is never good for recruiting. We need to seal the deal with every elite stud we can and make sure our roster is loaded for 2014. I see a tough schedule mixed with so many questions on both of our lines for next season. I see potential but realistically I think we are going to have 5-6 losses soley because we failed to recruit well the first two/three seasons under pelini. We need to recruit, recruit, recruit. If somehow we emerge as a contender this year that would help but somehow we must get these type kids and get them in droves.
