Dear Negative Nellies

hmmm...

I'm still a little concerned about defending a strong running attack. We got so far out in front of UW that they abandoned their game, but they had that one drive where they just shoved it down our throats in the first half.

But, at this point, that's all I'm concerned about... Would be a little more comfortable if we stopped with the fumbles, but it was much more solid than last week.

There's always things to improve on, but 'negative nelly' isn't a term which should apply this week.

Our run defense needs to get more consistent. That's the main issue going forward.

Cody Green having MAJOR fumble problems!

Too many penalties. Amukamara played well against a top talent, but had that holding and TD which were not standard for him.

Very minor gripes.

Martinez has an extremely awkward throwing motion which affects his longer throws.

Defensive line not ready much pressure on QB.

Run defense took some drives off.

All correctable/minor things I'm hoping we'll improve as the year goes on.

People that are worried about a strong running attack need to realize that when NU plays a team like that, that NU will plan to defend it.

Look, I have coached football for 10 years now and when we play a spread team, we prepare for that and change things. When we play a power running running team, we prepare for that and change things.

My guess is that for a power running team like say, Kstate, we might see 5 Dlinemen in the game, with two linebackers and 5 DBs.

I guess i would just like to know what the heck happened to green. And if green is still (green). Then why not let Lee out there. Obviously there is more to why he isnt out there but im curious to see how he handles the ball this year vs last year.

I hope not or we would get a lot of flags for 12 men on the field

Washington student section booing when the Huskers came out... My hot dog was kinda salty, some strange band playing outside the stadium during the third.... Ummm... Some guy was throwing corn at people....
