Death of a Player

A sportsman was rushed to a hospital from where he was playing and died shortly afterward. Why?

Since we seem to have geniuses in our midst, this one will be a little more difficult...

3. Did the sportsman dies as a direct result of something related to his sport or sporting event?

4. Was the sportsman wearing any clothing, gear or equipment that identified the sport or sporting event?

Was he playing a team sport? NO

Did a piece of sporting equipment kill him? YES & NO A piece of sporting equipment was involved but it didn't directly kill him.
