Defence only gave up 17 points

With the defence, do we look at they only gave up 17 points today and 27 in two games or do we look at total yards. Some defences are bend but don't break meaning, from the 20 to the 20 they give up yards but when in the red zone they buckle down. The only stat I really care about is points scored and points against. USC is going to march down the field and get yards but the Huskers need to hold them to Field Goals.

defense only gave up 3 last week, remember the int returned for a td?

actually it is 20 points in 2 games

 
While I wasn't terribly impressed with the defense, I think holding Wake to 17 was a decent job. Wake really is a pretty good team and we were on the road. Sure there are plenty of places to improve, but I think holding them to 17 points is a valid stat to consider (among others).

I think if the offense had been clicking we'd been executing better on that side of the ball, holding them to 17 would look even better.

Pardner, USC will march up and down the field and score, and it ain't going to be field goals... The Huskers had a cupcake game last week and looked ok.. A little tougher this week and looked like crap. The team that played better today did not win. I'm sorry to throw cold water on everyone's "this is the year" thing but, they'd better pick it up or the Big 12 North won't even happen. Flame me if you wish but, you watched the game.......
