Really the oustide stuff was about Safeties filling alleys which they did, but didn't make the tackle.. You would like to get an extra hat involved, but we got reached at the D-end and that caused us to loose the extra man..

As far as what Wisky did on D.. That's hard to block when your assignment changes pre & post snap... You're asking linemen to move in space not a great proposition!

The outside stuff is more than just safeties not making the tackle. You have to have the DE or outside linebacker moving UP field and confronting that runner and either turning him back into the defense or stringing it out to the side lines which allows other players to swarm to the ball. We didn't see that at ALL on Saturday.

This is the biggest thing I am baffled about from our defense. This is stuff that is learned in middle school football. At what point does that DE or OLB start seeing that WR crossing the field and realize it's MY responsibility to stop him and when the ball is snapped, you move upfield and take him out no matter what? Really? This NEVER happened.

It's no different than how defenses defend our old option plays. You put one guy with the responsibility of the outside runner no matter if he has the ball or not.
