De’Mornay Pierson-El had punt returns for 13, 41 and 80 yards, pushing his season total to 589 (the third best single-season mark in school history). The Husker freshman had nine returns of 20 yards or longer in 12 regular-season games, and the 80-yarder Friday was his third for a touchdown.

Beck, or hopefully someone much more competent an offensive coordinator, needs to figure out how to get him about 15 touches a game, maybe even 20 on screens, jet sweeps, returns, reverses, pass routes, whatever. Too much of a weapon to use only a few times a game.

Agreed. Showed true mastery on special teams, but also flashes of brilliance on offense. Had a number of mistakes, which is why I'm actually not too concerned at his lack of usage, but, he more than surpassed my expectations for a freshman, I mean, most freshman make those mistakes. Just a tremendous, gifted player who could be a real weapon if utilized properly.

Based on that he probably should win it? Guessing he leads the country in yards.. And 3 Td's is pretty decent.
