Just as there's no reason we need to know the depth chart, there's also not much of a reason for us not to know it. Are the players under a cone of silence? Isn't that a bit unfair to someone who will be starting, to not be able to tell his friends and family? And it's not like it's etched in stone once he releases it. If someone has their head up their butt the rest of the week in practice, he can change it on game day, and explain it any way he likes, or not at all. Too close to call early in the week? That's what the -OR- is for.
I guess we have that competitive advantage, that WKU doesn't know whether to prepare for Lee or Martinez or Green. That may be the difference we need to win this game. :sarcasm
Some people seem to love Bo for "sticking it to the media". The problem for us fans is, that's our main source of info, unless you really like hearing from a guy who knows a guy who has a friend who has a class with a player. As long as the Huskers win, Bo will be able to do whatever he wants. If we drop a few games, I don't think most people will put up with this, and if he doesn't have the media on his side that's not going to help at all. This is a pretty friendly media compared to Boston, New York or Chicago.
I understand the injury issue and letting family know first, but if he wants to keep family from getting called while their kid is in surgery, maybe he ought to find a better way to work with the media rather than the "you'll know when or if I decide you need to know" approach he seems to be taking. With no clue on whether they'll ever be informed, I'm not surprised what writers will do to try to get the news.
