This is a fantastic buy.

You can find bare tool circular saws for $60-90 online so for less than $300 you'd have virtually everything that you'd need for most home improvement projects.

Not too bad of a deal. But since I bought a Makita set with Li-ion batteries I could never go back to Nickel. Just such a major difference in power and charge hold.

I became a DeWalt addict during my construction days . . . and I now have enough 18v tools and chargers laying around that I'm committed for the foreseeable future.

The company that I worked for is transitioning to the lithium ion 20v tools. They're nice . . . the lighter weight is probably the biggest difference. The only downside (other than not fitting all of my 18v tools) is that they go dead with no warning. The 18v tools would give you a heads up before you climbed that three story scaffolding only to find out that the battery was dead. I didn't notice much difference in power. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend the old style batteries for home use.

Bought the Black & Decker set like this one for a little $100 on sale at Wal- Mart. Great for around the home projects. The DeWalt set is probably the better buy, though.
