Did we just get the biggest upset in the bowl season?

Tommy had a good game because the play selection played into his strengths, for the most part. The QB read/draw was more prevalent in this the prior three or four combined, the game was kept on the ground, and it helped our defense out. Plus the passes selected were, for the most part, in Tommy's wheelhouse and were high percentage plays. I'm not selling Tommy's talent short--rather, just pointing out it was better utilized last night than in most others this year.

I said this in the game thread, but had we this type of playcalling all season, we would have won the B1G West...and potentially the B1G, considering we beat the B1G Champion. Not saying we'd make the NC, but we'd likely be 9-3/10-2 and maybe playing in the Rose Bowl.

A strong commitment to the running game would have given us at *LEAST* two of those losses back (Illinois, Iowa) in conference play.

Tommy had a good game passing because UCLA didn't get much pressure on him. He was able to step into most of his throws instead of throwing off his back foot. When Tommy has good mechanics, he's a pretty good passer.

Don't know if it was the biggest upset of the bowl season, but it was very, very satisfying and fun to watch. If only Gerry hadn't gotten kicked out. That was just wrong to take that away from the young lad like that. No excuse.

How many times between now and kickoff will we hear that Nebraska went 5-7 this year and shouldn't be in a bowl game? Well, the snake-bitten Huskers clearly have the talent to play with the nation's elite, as evidenced by a win over Michigan State and a four-quarter game with Iowa. This will be a big deal for Mike Riley and the Huskers, who can end the year on a high note with a win in the state of California, where Riley would like to grab recruits from. Nebraska has thrown an amazing 13 interceptions in the last four games, so the Huskers need to eliminate those. But is UCLA really going to be excited about playing in a half-full (maybe) stadium in Northern California after it was blown out by its rival with a chance to play for the Pac-12 title in that stadium and a Rose Bowl berth? Josh Rosen has a huge future, but with all the injuries the Bruins have suffered this year along with dreams of a Pac-12 title gone, I don't know how much is left in the tank. Remember that last year Nebraska went to California and played USC tough in a bowl game. Sneaky-good upset chance here.
