Discussing the upcoming season

Special Teams Player
Schedule has some interesting teams and the order is a bit different than in past years.

TBA TBA

09/11 S. Mississippi Lincoln

09/18 Pittsburgh Pittsburgh

10/02 #Kansas Lincoln

10/09 #Texas Tech Lubbock

10/16 #Baylor Lincoln

10/23 #Kansas State Manhattan

10/30 #Missouri Lincoln

11/06 #Iowa State Ames

11/13 #Oklahoma Norman

11/26* #Colorado Lincoln

We have KSt. and Kansas a bit earlier this year. With the first week open I expect an absolute pansy in here that week. At home, just a team to fool around with. Hey Huck Fusker, you guuys are pretty good at this. Who should we schedule??? Lincoln Southeast??? OK

redout

Well from the looks of it we *should* be 6-0 by the time when get to womanhattan. We will probly sched someone like a Troy or Utah st in the 1 slot, but troy st is getting better & better and not to be taken lightly. Pitt is tough, but may be w/out Mr Heismann to the NFL, so we should be okay, but they will certainly be jacked, like they were for miami last season. And to give cred where its due, we cant figure we'll beat kstate. then again they are losing some key players, so we actually may have a good chance.

when its all said and done, I would say we'll be sittin at 9-2 at the end of the reg season, leading to a possible big 12 champ and bowl game. Bad case scenario we end up 8-5, good case 11-2. I dont think i have to go over the "worst" and "best" cases.

how bout the resta ya?

Callahan Says Too Many Players Are On Roster

Coach Evaluates Nebraska Walk-On Program

POSTED: 3:47 PM CST January 23, 2004

UPDATED: 4:57 PM CST January 23, 2004

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska has 170 players on its football roster going into the spring.

According to new coach Bill Callahan, that is too many.

Callahan said that while he respects the tradition of the Cornhuskers' walk-on program, he wants to trim the roster to what he calls a functional number.

Hey wyomingwildmuff. answer me this.

1) what the hell was the purpose of that post?

2) why the hell did you post it in this thread?

read the title next time before you just make random worthless posts. but that may be too much to ask from a powermuff like yurself. btw, do everyone a favor and remove the "husker" from your name. you lost your privileges. wyomingwildmuff is more fitting. or else stop posting and go away.

Bobby it was in the news today. I put it on the wrong thread.

Bobby, it was supposed to be posted in Husker Headlines. Black shirt put up the whole story.

I think a 8-3 regular season record would be a success. KSU OU TTech & Pitt are all tough road games, and will define our teams identity. Obviously all the home games are imperative wins, but SoMiss CU & MU are no washes. Tough road this next season guys. All I ask is for consistent competitive play. No showing up in the 1st half and not the 2nd crap a la MU.

brm

Gotta agree w/ BRM. KSU and OU will be tough road games but if we can compete and show that we can actually play w/ those teams I think we'll be alright. Pitt shouldn't be that tough of a game if Fitzgerald goes pro. I think they lose Ron Rutheford (qb) to graduation and I think they also lose their rb. Tech will be tough if they can get a qb comfortable in the system, but if they can't it should be a sure win.

You poor f*****s. It's so satisfying watching you bicker over what turd team to play before Big 12 teams pound your ***. By the way, K-State had a higher schedule ranking last year than you **** sniffers. And we played D2 schools.

You have to run the ball in the Big 12! Good luck with the WCO! I hope it fails miserably. Maybe you could join the PAC 10?

HuckFuskers. Watch the trailertrash talk sugarlips. We designed a forum called 'Smack Someone' for that type of garbage. So if you have nothing topical or relevant to add to a discussion that doesnt include f'n bleeps, dont bother. KState fans wonder why everyone is so bitter towards them, but 95% of all your posts on this board have been nothing but trash. I realize that some of it has been instigated by people on "our side", but they have had the decency to keep it where it belongs (smack someone, Eric the Red's forum) instead of spraying it all over the board like a fat kid with high speed internet and no parental controls.

We've had LSU, UCLA, OU, TX, Cal, Wis, and many other fans on here, and most all seem to find an objective non-vulgar way to make their points. I dont care if we agree with your opinion or not, thats irrelevant. Contradicting non-offensive opinions are good for discussion.

And I understand you think you have this "role" to play as the jaded pissed off kstate fan that we all love to hate, and I agree that there is a place for that Barney character to beat in every Huskers life, but give it a rest once in a while wouldja? But if thats too far above you, whatever, just keep it where it belongs, thats all I ask.

AHHHH relax their still pissed that raperson used his little head before his big head and stayed out all night. Think about it, out of all the defenses thrown at him this year, few could stop him. All they had to do was put a little pussycat out there!! :P :D :o  ;)

Does anyone know if Texas Tech has a QB coming up that's going to be able to do similiar things as the past two?? You know throw the ball 992 times a game. Even if he's young, I see Nebraska winning their first six.

I have heard SP is trying to schedule just about anyone. I've heard Wyoming by some. But as for as choice there's not much because it's so late. He'll get someone basically because the Lincoln economy needs that game, the Univ needs $ and we need the practice

Blackshirt don't forget Wyoming on that list.

Even though I am no longer a fan, (after 36 years of being one), I still see Big Red winning all of next years games except Oklahoma. There is a lot on the line for next season and Pederson will apply the pressure. He has become the head coach with out the title. His dream came true.

Nebraska has the ability to win all of them, but OU will be the toughest I think.

Hey send us Frank Solich and Turner Gill!

I was actually just referring to people from those other schools, rather than Husker transplants WyExHus. I believe you are an NU grad am I wrong? But since it seems that your loyalites have now drifted closer to Wyoming, I will add you to the list.

But despite the negative attitude, you seem pretty optimistic about the upcoming season. Whats the deal? You have too many drinks during that last post? :)

I actually think we will probably drop 2-3 games in the regular season, but compete hard in all of them. We should compete for the Big 12 champ too b/c Im not sure CU or KSU really have that much returning. MU may be our biggest comp in the north, and weve got them in our yard this year!!

Yes, both me and my wife graduated from NU! Lived most of our lives in NE. Moved to Wy for work and always followed the Big Red.

I am still optomistic about next season. One loss if every thing falls into place.

KSU is in a rebuilding season, no threat. CU is done, they belong to the Huskers!

It is the Sooners that will remain strong. They recruited very well again. And they have Pelini.

I just won't follow NU like I did in the past, I can't stand what Pederson did! When he leaves my donations and support will return.
