Being the hunter
The night before the Kansas State game, Husker coach Bo Pelini showed a motivational video to his team about hunters going after a lion.
In the video, the lion turns the tables and charges the hunters, making them the hunted. But the lion is taken down at the last second by the focused hunters.
The video's message apparently resonated with junior defensive tackle Jared Crick, who talked this week about the importance of staying the aggressor and not becoming the hunted even if you're the favored team.
"We like to think that we're the hunter no matter what, no matter where we're at in the rankings, no matter how good we think we are, we always have to be in that aggressive state and be the hunter," Crick said. "You don't want to be the hunted because you let your guard down and something wrong might happen."
