Does anyone watch BTN Live?

I like to watch the show from the day before at 6:00 AM the next day. Is it just me or are they really loving on Iowa and Illinois right now. I mean they are both 2-0 which is great, but Iowa beat a decent 1AA school in Illinois St. and probably the worst big 12 school this year Iowa St. Illinois has beat Kent St and Western Illinois. Am I missing something here.

 
They are going to talk positively about the teams that have the best records. Their job is to promote the conference, so they are doing what they are supposed to do. As the season goes on, those teams will lose and they will start talking about what ever teams rise to the top.

As someone said, let them enjoy the sun light while they can. It won't last long.

 
I think BTN tries to give props to all the B1G schools. Some of the teams won't be in the conversation anymore two months from now. Maybe that's why they're fawning all over Illinois and Iowa right now.

I get the love, I just wish they would temper it with saying something about the competition not being anything special. i have heard them mention S. Alabama as not being very good. For me the total love for Iowa is really out there on the show.

 
They are hyping Northwestern quite a bit.

I feel part of the reason for the love of these schools is because they are trying to hype up of the West...it is wide open....the west teams will pick each other off and there could be someone in there that no one thought had a chance!

Northwestern deserves the hype they beat Stanford and their next opponent convincingly. I am not sure Stanford is super good, but they are a decent team. Better than anything Iowa or Illinois has played.

And Northwestern has always played DoNU tough. And they are kinda pissed that they became Kansas 2.0 when all of those Nebraska fans showed up in their stadium last time...

But I'm honestly scared about the Illinois game with our current secondary. Comes up too soon on the schedule for the staff to find a band-aid or workaround should they lay an egg at Miami.

 
This goes on every year. Teams play junk and then they come back down to earth. For schools like Illinois it's the only time they get talked about. Remember they are trying to attract viewers too.

Since you live in Illinois, are you an Illinois fan at all? Northwestern? (I generally root for them when they're not playing NU.)

Illinois resident also. I don't take much interest in the Illini. Most of the Illini grads I know don't take much interest in their FB program. After going to NW games I feel like I should root for them out of sympathy (when they aren't playing NU).

 
I watch it (I don't ever watch espn shows). I don't mind it too much when they pump up the other teams a little bit. At least when they're talking about Illinois, NW and Iowa they're not constantly talking about OSU, Michigan State or Michigan so much. I'm about sick of hearing about OSU. As a side, the few glimpses I saw of the OSU training camp show before I could turn away, the narrator sounds like the guy from the old Dukes of Hazzard show.

 
Really, would you expect impartiality from any network owned by a conference?

That's like watching FOX news and getting pissed that they are badmouthing liberals.

 
Keep in mind that BTN has a vested interest in hyping the teams that will be playing on BTN. Take a look at which teams they're hyping and then take a look at the teams on BTN that weekend.
