Does Callahan owe it to Nebraskans?

i'm just trying to put myself in his shoes. would you just QUIT your job because some (1.7 million is a lot, yes) people don't like you?

just trying to be a little practical here. i wake up every day and think i will hear an announcement that he has stepped down or fired cosgrove, but really...this is his livelihood and he probably has some self-respect.
He's already quit. He's just collecting a check now.

Wearing tan to his news conference Tuesday when he normally wears NU gear (see World-Herald) was intentional, and his half-assed, unenthusiastic leading of the team onto the field yesterday (see tunnel walk video) showed he just doesn't care.

As far as his having good recruiting classes, this is among the biggest indictments of his tenure. He brought in good athletes and coached them to vastly underachieve.

We'll see next year. Things won't be entirely fixed and we won't compete for a national championship (in part because we will have a new QB), but I FULLY believe that the kids' athleticism and football talent will be better drawn out by better coaching.

If it's Pelini -- and I'm not really for or against that -- the defense WILL be vastly better. He turned around what was a terrible defense in '02 and made essentially the same kids killers in '03.

Do you guys think he should step down now? Seriously. Consider his options:

7. Despite all the criticism, these are still his players and he owes them his utmost
Given the fact that we are getting blown out game in and game out. He would be doing them a favor by quitting.

f#*k the money!! How do you feel as a Nebraskan getting screwed by a guy who won't step up and do what I (and probably most of you would do) would do and leave a completely unsavory situation.
I know I wouldn't leave until asked to leave by the AD (assuming I liked the job, which I think Callahan does). I'd try to do my best until I was fired. And I do believe he's trying, I think he's just got absolutely no idea how to fix this situation.
Your right!! When you have a running back that weighs 240lbs and you need two yards to get a first down at the 6 yard line and you throw twice, getting sacked once and an incomplete pass on the other, if that's trying your best, than he hasn't got a clue on running an offence or coaching a team to fire them up.

GBR!!!

Or when even the fans can call the play by the back that is in the game, you have no clue period.
