When I was in college which happened to be in the NC run, all students could get student tickets if they desired.

That's the way it should be. The students (or their parents) are putting a lot of money into getting an education at the University. If they want a ticket to see the game, there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to get one.

Hopefully expansion will open things up for the students and give them more opportunity, but I'm not sure how the expansion's going to affect the stadium seating, so I'm guessing it's not going to work that way.

We need to follow the protocol of getting a driver's license when your over a certain age. If you've held season tickets for maybe 25+ years, you need to present a physical that you "can" cheer and a pych eval stating that other's cheering doesn't make you verbally confrontational.
