Ok Skersfan, I can see what you're saying. They may want to stand but their physical condition just won't allow it. However, you said "as long as they consider others". How about the people sitting consider others? You said the person in front of you can stand, "if you don't want to". What if someone told you you can cheer, but only when they want to? It's the same principal. They aren't the only ones that want to see or cheer at the games. They want to sit, others want to stand so who wins? The older person? Why? I'm all for respecting my elders but I do not think that they should be able to tell people to sit down at a damn football game. It's also one thing if some idiot is just standing up yelling f bombs all over the place in front of a kid, it's a whole other thing if someone is standing the whole game, and just yelling to make noise without swearing. Nobody, regardless of who else is at the game should be told to sit down in that case. Your last statement made me feel for your great grandpa, bc I can see myself being one of those people who will probably break a hip cheering on the skers.
