Don't Turn On Bo

We might lose this game last year. This year we win and hold a spread offense to 1 touchdown and 2 field goals. This team is coming of a 5-7 season

Not much you can do as a coach when its the players on defense who SUCK.
I think "OLDMAN" is Herbstreit lurking...

So don't everyone turn on bo now just cause we had a bad game,

I'm worried we're gonna catch the newcoachitis bug. lets not do that. Bo is doing as good of a job as anyone with the people he has. Let's give them a few full seasons of full support before doing something we regret. Everyone on the same page about that?

Personally I still think Bo IS the future of this team.
Who's turning on BO???

Black Label Society hit the nail on the head, we WOULD have lost this game last year.

Thank God we have BO
I don't think we would've lost this game last year. In fact, it felt eerily like the Wake Forest game.

The first two games of the season are hardly the measure we should be using to evaluate Bo. The real yardstick will be where he goes from here, now that we know what we're working with.

Herbstreit sucked bo's d!(k wayyyy too much to be like that.....

one thing i'm not getting though... 1st it was our offense that was amazing and our defense that needed all the improvement... now people are saying our offense sucks... the team didn't look good no.... but hopefully watson realized something this weekend... and that is that Helu is the guy. Thinking about it this running back situation reminds me a lot of what we had a few years back... not exactly, because i think this core is more talented all around... but remember BJax's sr year... we had Lucky who was "the future of nebraska football" with all his speed, and cody glenn who was running people over (now he just flipped sides), and then Brandon Jackson who did both things.. could do it all.. that reminds me of helu... now im not saying this is the exact same thing here, but Helu seems like the guy that can do it all, a lot more so than the other 2 can. Its like when lucky is out there, we are running him up the middle because people know he can run outside, so they'd play that.. the look i did like too though was the lucky at rb and castille at fb... options there..... but i don't think it takes a genius to realize that castille is better up the middle and lucky on the outside.....

but anyways, nobody is gonna run him out of town... nobody that has any sense that is... i think the way the defense held up when its back was against the wall so to speak, was pretty good.. yea they gave up too many yards to a lot of peoples liking, but their half back was running people over, which i didn't like to see at all.... and they seemed to confuse us, but we did hold up in the end... even if their kicker did help us...

i won't turn on bo 'cause then i'm afraid he'd turn on me. and i'm not sure i can handle him in a fair fight.

... maybe if i had a baseball bat and pit bull...

I know this is what message boards are all about, but are you people serious? The fact that someone even felt need to start this "don't turn on Bo" thread is ridiculous. Yes, the penalties on offense were troubling and we didn't win by as many points as we thought we should have, but I've seen more aggressive plays and pressure on defense in two games than I did all of last season. The enthusiasm alone that he's brought back to the program is incredible. Bo is the right man for the job, just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Bo is the right coach to help get this program going in the right direction. He has the attitude and coaching mindset that is right for this program. I'm behind him 110%........................GO HUSKERS!

Turn on Bo??? Hell no. I see fire, determination, and will to play.

We may have some kinks to work out but they are playing with heart and that is how it starts.

GO BO!!!

The offensive talent is not stellar either. This is exactly as many of us predicted --- a team with mid-conference level talent. Bo can only do so much.

This will play out over time and I think Bo will prove to be a good coach. But this year do not expect much. As I said long before the season began --- 6 or 7 wins will be a reasonable number. No more. Hopefully no less. The B12 is tough --- and we do not have the talent to compete with Texas, Texas tech, Oklahoma, or Missouri and are likly slightly below Kansas and Colorado and maybe Okie State too (though we should be able to compete with them, maybe win, maybe not). We are a mid-conference program now. OK... a mid conference program with a great history.

Lower your expectations folks. We'll be better than last year --- but the record will not be much better.

Sorry but there is no way in HELL that our talent is inferior to Colorado and KU!
Good news is...

we'll find out.

GO BO!!

Yeah..Me Too!

Win or Tie..

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable around a "turned on" Bo.

:ahhhhhhhh

There's a big difference between this (whole) coaching staff and the previous one..Even the coaches that were on both staffs I suspect.

It was easier to want to get rid of Callahan as opposed to Frank Solich..And NOT just because of the win/loss record..It was the WAY we were losing and the elimination of some mighty important traditions..I just don't see Bo doing that.

I think we all understand that the players he has are not a fit for his system....they look better than last year, but the coaches are still fighting the bad habits that Coz instilled in them. The d-line played well today, but the rest was suspect. Keep the faith folks!!!!!
That's just it..

Pretty sure Bo's "System" is supposed to fit ALL players..Give these players time..It's not automatic yet where they're just running on learned instinct..

Not sure what "Bad Habits" you're talking about..or what makes them so hard to (un)instill..People have been ganging up on Coz and Cal for so long, I forgot what they actually did as far as coaching goes.

But your statement reminds me a little of what some of us were saying about Callahan and getting "His players" in the system..For some reason, that had more of an effect on his Defense..even though it was the Offense that was changing philosophy so drastically.

Oh. I can think of one bad habit I didn't see until Cosgrove arrived. Two different types of tackling techniques: 1) pushing the offensive player out of bounce and 2) arm tackling.

Both do not work all that well, as we saw during the first three quarters of the SJS game.

OMG IT'S ONLY THE SECOND GAME IN HIS 1ST YEAR.

YOU PEOPLE ACT LIKE THIS IS HIS 6TH SEASON OR SOMETHING.

WE FREAKIN WON
