Draft Express Mock Draft

Petteway strikes me as a guy who can be very successful in Europe... He will get a look from the NBA, but I just dont think he is complete enough.

 
The way that this year has gone, I think Petteway should stay for one more year. Petteway and Shields have been most of our offense this year and teams know it. When we get some of those other players in the mix next year, maybe we will have a couple of other scorers and Petteway can develop some other parts of his game a little bit more.

 
I agree Petteway needs another year and a chance to work with a team, which we do not have right now. Petteway is not a NBA starter but is as good as several bench guards playing now.

 
In the game I watched, he scored 20 points in a half, and I still walked away wondering if he was good or not. The thing that bothered me was that when he doesn't have the ball he's not involved.


I don't know what position he can guard. He can score, but I don't know if that scoring relates to beating guys off the dribble. He does a great job with the east-to-west stuff, crossing over, backing up and sizing up the defense.

Still, I'm not crazy about him. There's something lacking. I just don't know if his scoring will make up for his flaws in other areas.

Yeah, I know it's Bleacher Report but it's supposedly coming from some NBA scouts.

Sounds like they might be suggesting he isn't a good defender. If they are, they're wrong. He's a solid defender, and scorer. Needs to work on his left hand (and going left). His attitude, and basketball discipline is what needs the most work.
