Agreed. With more scholarships available we could afford to take a few more guys and let them develop. And (I'm somewhat speculating here) more of them were willing to walk-on and work their way up. Just doesn't work the same anymore.i think it's just another case Mav of folks yearning for how it used to be. But lets face the facts. We simply do not have the head-and-shoulders advantages in strength, conditioning, nutrition, psychology, and *depth* that we did 20 years ago that took average to good players in this state, could put them through a 2-3 year process, and made them elite.
