Malvern, AR -- A car crashed through the front of a Brookshire's grocery store in Malvern. No one was hurt, but the car pushed all the way to aisle six, about 60 feet inside.
The driver, 81-year-old Johnnie Pearson, says the car just wouldn't stop. The vehicle finally could go no further after it smashed the deli counter into the frozen foods.
Malvern police Officer Chad Jordan says the tread marks in the store show the tires were spinning forward, burning rubber. He says the tires melted into the concrete where the car stopped moving.
Jordan says about 75 people were inside at the time and people were in a checkout line next to where the car made its entrance. Pearson says she doesn't know if her insurance will cover the damage. But she says she's happy no one was injured.
