Coming into 2017 York defensive lineman and Nebraska commit Masry Mapieu had a couple goals, get a little faster and be able to play both sides of the ball.
An offseason of working hard has paid off, as Mapieu estimates he’s lost 25 pounds and the 6-foot-4 lineman now sits around 290 pounds.
“I’m trying to lose weight because I want to play both sides of the ball,” Mapieu said. “Coach John Parrella (Nebraska) thought it would be a good idea if I dropped some weight. He said I’d probably feel like a million bucks. I want to get down to 285.
“I’ve been sprinting a lot, eating the right food and lifting hard. I think my quickness has improved. I’m much faster off the ball from last year.”
