Dylan Raiola

If Dylan actually does try to come back (doubtful), it's gonna be with his tail between his legs.

He thinks he's gonna have national championship contenders offering top dollar like they did when he was in HS, but I don't think he's finding that to be the case this time around.

As Rhule said, "Yesterday's price is not today's price." And that goes for the price we'd be willing to pay, too.
I thought about this and f you. You want him to crawl back? Maybe he thinks this is his best option. How is that bad? Are you saying that if he would come back it’s because he has no other options? Think about that. Who’s doing the crawling?

Is he better than Lateef? Obviously and I told people not to get excited about Lateef after UCLA as it was the EJ show and UCLA defense stinks.

BUT I want Nebraska to go back to a true dual threat QB like we saw the Utah QB do. I want someone who is comfortable about running the ball several times. Idc about his NFL draft stock. I want to win college football games like we used to.

I agree! Dylan is so much better than TJ. TJ is not a dual threat QB. He wasn’t recruited as a dual threat. He is just more mobile than Dylan. Can TJ run, absolutely and has shown that ability. Maybe we can develop schemes to use his legs but he will never be considered a dual threat, but just as a “mobile “ QB.

Have seen post suggesting that possibly DR may return. I would put that at about 1%, only because you never say never. All guys who are portal guys or opt outs, were allowed to go to the bowl. Some even suited. EJ on sidelines and was shown afterwards shaking hands and thanking staff, media, etc…. Someone mentioned that Dana hasn’t spoken to DR since his announcement. Right after his announcement, a player was asked (personal connection, not publicly) about the team’s reaction and he said a lot of pi$$ed off guys. EJ and DR were inseparable this past spring/summer/fall while making public appearances. EJ has been at many other events on campus without his sidekick. DR has left the building and it appears from the outside that there is no chance. I would be happy to be wrong though.

No.

Because he wouldn't be getting the special treatment and money he was before.

Not bad for us, though...

Are you saying that if he would come back it’s because he has no other options? Think about that.

I said nothing of the sort. I think he'll have tons of options. Every halfway decent QB in the portal will have plenty of options.

Just not options of the 'national title contender willing to pay top dollar and give him special treatment' kind. You know, the kind he was getting as a high school prospect. The kind he thinks he should still be getting. The kind of money and treatment we've been giving him to date, but wouldn't be giving him if he came back.

Who’s doing the crawling?

Erm... no one?

Note the time of that post, she was drunk I'm sure. If I recall she commented about being in Vegas. Probably still sleeping it off right now. :ROFLMAO:

Nope! I’m here and doubling down.
Could we please not argue about fantastical hypotheticals that are never going to happen. Dylan ain’t coming back and Nebraska isn’t going to have him back.

If he did return it would mean that both parties came crawling back. DR would have to accept a much smaller NIL package, if any (he won’t), and the understanding he would be competing for playing time which he is unlikely to get (again-he won’t). And Nebraska would have to offer him something (they won’t) and accept the limitations of a statue QB (again-won’t).

He gone. He’ll end up someplace better for him, someplace more designed for a pocket passer that has no mobility, but for less NIL $$ than we were giving him. His value is no longer what it once was. And we’ll end up with a QB that can move at least a little bit, and hopefully have a decent arm and a better sense of when to get the ball out. It’ll be better for both of us, really.

I would guess that with the QB we signed we are moving on even if he wanted to come back.

The fact that he hasn’t signed anywhere is interesting. Did he over estimate his market? Or is it a team still in the CFP?
