Dylan Raiola

You know what would really be amazing? It'd be if his new coaching staff plays him into thinking he won't have to compete for the starting role in 2026...and then makes him compete for the starting roll...and then he doesn't get it.
i am sure no one is spending that kind of money to keep him on the bench....well...maybe indiana or tech could with their money

Can the better schools afford NOT to have more than one quality QB secured, given the frequency of season-ending injuries and the portal QBs willing to string them along and possibly bail?

Its funny how quiet this has been compared to how most of his HS and college life has gone. There've been updates on every other top QB, but nothing here coming from national media or school specific media.

I know there are Oregon rumors, but unless their new OC wants a statue he just doesn't fit what they do at QB. And I also wonder if it has been so quiet at Oregon for QBs because they know Moore is coming back to avoid going to the Raiders or Jets. Oregon is also getting a visit from a 5* true freshman QB leaving USC.

Miami had been super quiet for QB and he fits the Beck mold, so maybe he's the plan there? But I just saw they are getting a visit from Leavitt.

Louisville did make sense with Brohm. It's risky for them to be throwing all their eggs in a basket with the OSU transfer who has throw 30 passes over 3 years. So maybe that is still an option?

Great stuff here, almost exactly the same stuff I've been pondering.

I wonder if there being no news does lend more credence to it being a team that's in the playoffs, because they're in the playoffs and that kind of stuff is maybe quieter until they're over?

Another theory is the Raiola's know they are not the first choice right now of tier 1 schools and are laying low waiting for the dust to settle a bit more (Leavitt is the big domino). Then they can become the best available and get a bidding war going for teams that are scrambling to fill the position.

If he stays in the portal and no one “picks him up” does he automatically revert to NU? Idk how that works. As I understand it, just because he is in the portal doesn’t mean he is officially off the team until he actually transfers.

From a strategy standpoint, if money is a high priority, then this is a great move.

Maybe I'm being too specific or too practical here. But if Dom has invested & managed his money wisely, his kids have a trust fund and will be multi-millionaires someday without even doing anything. Not to mention that Dylan already is a millionaire, basically.

So it's kind of weird that they'd prioritize money (if that's actually what they're doing). It seems almost short-sighted in their particular situation.

What Dylan really needs to do is play for the school in 2026 that sets him up to progress and get to a place where an NFL team wants him come 2028.

Once you enter the portal, the school doesn't have to hold a spot for you anymore. But they can allow you to come back.

So he doesn't "automatically revert" to NU. But he still could come back (in theory). Though I imagine now it would be at an even lower number than he was offered last month so that doesn't seem likely.

Unless he has something “worked out” with Oregon, Miami or Indiana it’s starting to look like he over played his hand? Certainly he has some sort of arrangement one would assume.

IIRC, teams still alive in the cfp can not make portal additions.

And by all means, come on back, but today’s price ain’t yesterday’s price and tomorrows price ain’t today’s price. I don’t see that happening but ya know.

It should be interesting to see where he ends up.
