Dylan Raiola

It's still early, but he is playing like a professional QB. I couldn't ask for more.
It’s one of the things that I was so happy to see. He has command of the offense. He doesn’t look like someone out there trying to figure it out.

I think Dylan is top level when it comes to what's between the ears seeing the field/coverages. There's also no doubt that he can deliver the ball from all angles and platforms, but... I'm really worried about his inability to drive balls down field. I know that's not a new criticism, but I think it's really going to bite us in B1G play when we're down to the wire with good teams.

He is great at buying time, to get guys to a spot where he can deliver the ball accurately but, against Michigan, USC, Penn St, Iowa he's not going to have that time. And he's going to have to fit it in there with velocity that he just hasn't shown yet, or get crushed.

I agree with you. I always hear about his great arm but the throws don’t necessarily bear that out. TJ seems to have a much more powerful arm based on what I’ve seen but I’m not a coach so who knows

That deep throw from TJ was awesome.

That deep throw from Dylan, not so much.

Dylan’s arm is plenty strong enough.
Yes it is. I think the under thrown ball today was more of a timing thing. If he would have thrown it sooner, it would have been better.

He has a very strong arm to get the ball to the WR fast. He just hasn’t shown yet that he’s dangerous with the deep ball.

I'd say a more lively arm. He throws with urgency. Dylan, last year and less so this, apprears to my arm chair coaching experience throws a little lazy. To this same critical eye, DR does seem improved over last year and also has receivers who might actually when their share of 50/50 balls vs last year. I'm more concerned with our OL vs B1G DL's....Through 3 games dude is a different QB, but he also look great last year through 4 games and then dipped. If we can keep TJ, we have some depth we haven't had in quite some time.
