Dylan Raiola

He needs to learn to step up into the pocket. He needs to get a few yards when he can. He needs to throw the ball away early when his guys are covered. He has very slow feet. Jared Lorenz loves his game. He had an OK game. Let's not get crazy.
He had a better passing game than Mateer did against Michigan. Dylan is just really slow. And I’m not talking straight line speed but more start and stop agility type speed. He needs to figure out how to quicken his decision and quick twitch muscles to get outside the pocket instead of stepping into a collapsing pocket from in front of him.

He had a much better than OK in my mind. Switch the teams offensive lines and NU wins by 14 points easily.

There were several times there were, he is slow to do it.

There were several times he stepped up in the pocket.

There were a few times he didn't.

And there were the most times when there was nowhere to step up to.

70+%, 300+, 3 TD vs Michigan with our line and run game woes is an incredible performance, and pretty much the best we've ever seen in school history in terms of passing.

He can avoid sack by not holding on to the ball so long as well. He seems (I do not think this is true) to be more worried about his completion percentage than throwing the ball away. We all agree we have a Raiola problem. The OL coach.

Yeah, no. Dylan did everything he could to keep us in the game. The offensive issue was piss poor tackle play. You can't step up when both tackles are collapsing and the DTs are holding their ground. The only thing that seemed to work to get him more time was rolling him out.

The tackles collapsed immediately on almost every drop back. He doesn't even have time for his guys to run their routes

I would normally agree with you but stepping up into the pocket wasn't helping him today. And just getting rid of the ball early wasn't going to help him either. When he took sacks he didnt have much to work with. Start throwing the ball just to avoid a sack ends up where we have been for the last 10yrs with turnover problems

Would honestly rather we hired a quality O-line coach. We had a quality transfer-qb lined-up last year and could have had another one this year. Hell I'd rather have Lateef as a first-year player behind a better O-line. Not to mention the major NIL resources that could be allocated elsewhere.

lol ok. The guy wasn’t perfect out there. Costly interception early. Bailed out with the Hail Mary. Make up all the excuses u want, DR hasn’t figured out how to QB with pressure in his face. Abundantly clear today he’s not ready for the big games
