Urban Meyer's a helluva coach. No point ignoring that fact.
agree and he has the horses right now to ride.......we will lose this one.
I really have reservations regarding Urban Meyer. If he were such a great coach then why did he leave Florida in such a poor position? Why did he really leave Florida. Here is one report:
"
The Florida Gators program suffered through a very down season a year ago, and did so in Urban Meyer’s final year in 2010. Now there is a report in the Sporting News that Urban fractured the program prior to leaving, and now it is scrambling to put things back together."
and another when he took the position at Ohio State:
"
During yesterday’s presser in Columbus, if you go over
his transcript
, Meyer gave more examples of his wishy-washyness (google it). He said that part of the reason he left his Florida job is because he didn’t like what was going on in college football. So less than two years later, he joins the most-publicly corrupted program (save Jerry Sandusky and Penn State) of 2011.
OSU only had ten-plus players suspended
for either selling memorabilia for tattoos or accepting improper benefits. So if you don’t like the nature of the corruption that litters college football, why would you go to the 2011 epicenter? Meyer said that he thought about coaching in the Ivy League or for one of the service academies because of the lack of politics and corruption. So why didn’t he do that? The Buckeyes gave him 24 million reasons not to. They don’t put a dollar in O$U for nothing."

and more:
"
In six seasons at Florida, Meyer won 65 games and guided the Gators to BCS national championships during the 2006 and 2008 seasons.
But Ohio State isn't hiring that coach. The Buckeyes are hiring a coach who went 8-5 in his final season as Florida's coach and left behind an even worse team for his successor. After Meyer won two national championships in three seasons with former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, perhaps the greatest player in modern college football history, Meyer left as soon as the Gators started struggling."

So is he really that great? Or is he only great when he has good players? I don't know. I kind of feel sorry for Ohio St. if they hire him and then when they start to falter he jumps ship on them. Hopefully, that won't happen. It would be fun to be able to beat them while he is their coach. I just don't trust the guy. Glad he's not our coach.
