Early Signing Day - December 20th, 2017

Golly, here it is almost 9:00 a.m. and we don't have a full class of four and five stars.  Really disappointing!!!

:ahhhhhhhh

Worst part of Signing Day is the hand-wringing over the kids who don't sign.  Nebraska offered over 200 kids according to the OWH.  They can sign, what?  20? 22?

That's over 200 kids that won't sign here, many of whom we've only "recruited" for a couple of weeks.  But that doesn't stop the local recruitniks and some fans from agonizing over the kids who sign elsewhere.

Recruiting is a lot like batting.  Even with a really good average you're going to be out a lot more than you're in.

I have also wondered if many kids are out of school and if they want the signing ceremony that some of the high schools do they need to wait for the next signing date as many school started winter break this week.  This may not matter much but it may for some.

Listening to Frost - He says he will play the best players regardless of age (class) or location.  QB Martinez & other recruits will have the opportunity to play --- if he earns it.  He says he wants to give freshman every opportunity to play.  He also wants to get back to developing those walk ons as we did in the 90s.  He sees the walk ons as opportunities to mine potential and develop a strong team.

Both of these statements are refreshing to hear.

JUCO RB Bell sounds like the real deal (and looks it after watching the video) and we may get a 2 fer - as there is a WR on that JUCO team that is also highly coveted.
