East Stadium expansion plans still growing

1. Buffet doesn't donate (at least not like he could) to the University or Athletic Department. There's a reason his name isn't on the Business school at UNL-you got to pony up some $$$$$ first.

2. Heard from a former player/cousin who talked with Paul Meyers shortly before Christmas who said that they ultimately want to dublicate North Stadium on the South Side----i.e. Another Jumbotron and suites all the way around the stadium with a few additional seats, but the focus would be on higher value seats.
While that would look really nice, I can't help but feel it would be a stupid move. You're esseentially boxing in the stadium, and deciding right then and there that you won't ever be able to expand afterwards. North stadium is done with, there's no way they can do more to it without tearing it at least a little apart.
We all need to remember we can't eventually get to 110,000 and continue our sellout streak. I love the idea of doing this to the south side, and actually have been wanting it for years. Besides how much room do we really have left on the south side for more seats anyways? That structure planks out pretty wide already. It looks too wide to do a Penn State on it

Notice below the endzone seats don't go as far back

I still think they should have took north stadium and added a deck instead of extending it out further, and then connect that deck all the way around with the east and west stadium decks.

Not sure why he reportedly doesn't. For a guy who is supposedly a fan.

Not sure how that would work. Would they have to remove some of the existing seats to make is symmertrical? Or would it look kind of hob-cobbled together, and those suites would be a LONG ways away from the field. Regardless, they will always find ways to expand if needed.

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents on Friday approved adding another level to the planned expansion of Memorial Stadium for the 2013 season.
"It will expand the availability," said Regent Bob Phares of North Platte. "It's here because of the increased demand over and above what they anticipated."

Meeting in Lincoln, the board approved a revised budget adding $8 million to the project. The original plan called for adding approximately 5,000 seats and 31 suites to East Stadium at a cost of $55.5 million. The additional level would add another 1,000 seats and five more suites.
