I am utterly amazed at the people who are working in Africa on this. They have my absolute upmost respect. You want to talk about heroes? I think these people deserve every ounce of meaning that word brings.
These people willingly go into these areas working with patients trying to make their lives better and they are volunteering to do this knowing they will get no press, no big name in marquees. They won't be recognized at the next baseball game as a hero...etc.
They are doing it simply because they care about humanity. They are doing it even though they see their fellow volunteers infected with this same horrible disease and know they might be the next one infected.
My hats off to these people and everything they do.
